Most vehicles that are to a point of needing a transmission are still worth repairing. With fuel injection, engines are lasting a lot longer because they burn cleaner. If a vehicle is taken care of and maintained they are generally worth fixing. The cost of new vehicles is always on the rise and for the cost of one or two payments the repair would be paid for but a new car you will have 65-70 more monthly payments.  By maintaining a rebuilt transmission it should last the life of the vehicle. On most makes our rebuilt transmissions come with a standard 12 month or 12,000 mile limited warranty. Some remanufactered transmissions have a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Some exclusions apply.
